한국은 5월 8일이 어버이날이지요. 하지만 미국의 경우, 어머니날과 아버지날이 따로 나누어져 있고, 어머니날은 5월의 둘째 주 일요일, 아버지날은 6월 셋째 주 일요일이 됩니다.
올해는 5월 9일이 어머니날이 되고요, 어머니날 아침에 이 글을 쓰고 있네요. 아들의 엄마이자 제 엄마의 딸로서, 엄마일 수 있음에 그리고 딸일 수 있음에 더욱 감사함을 느끼게 되는 날입니다.
